Vintage 1966 Harley Davidson M50 scooter moped 50cc 3sp
Vehicle Description
This is a 1966 Harley Davidson M50 scooter. This fun little scooter is completely original- even the Pirelli tires. It starts, runs, drives and stops. It does have a little attitude when it comes to just idling. Sometimes it will idle just fine, other times it will stall. I think it needs the carb rebuilt or maybe adjusted a little bit. I bought this from an elderly gentleman who used to display it at his Harley Dealership. He couldn't remember where he got it from, as it had been over 25 years ago. I do ride it around the neighborhood, but not very far as the tires are weather checked and cracky. Yes, that is a new old stock windshield on there. I got it with the scooter, but no mounts. I finally found the correct mounting brackets. I still have the original box for the windshield, if you want to sell instead of using it. The rims have poor chrome and there is a small dent in the right side of rear fender. It does have the optional rear rack with the optional passenger seat cushion mounted on it, along with the rear foot pegs (all real Harley pieces). I did replace the passenger foot pegs as on was badly bent. There is no rust in the tank. This does have just over 6000 miles on it, so it does show signs of wear. This would be the perfect candidate for a restoration or enjoy it the way it is. A wise old man told me many years ago "you can restore it a hundred times- but you only get original once". Thats why I haven't done anything with it except clean it up a little. This is has a 50cc 2 stroke engine with a clutch and 3 speed transmission.

I have this registered as a moped here in Michigan. With the moped paper work and a bill of sale you should have no problem transfering legal ownership.
I am not offering shipping, but will be happy to help any way that I can. Including meeting or delivery within a couple hundred miles for gas money.
