1979 Honda CBX low miles, exceptional original condition
Vehicle Description
This auction is for a 1979 Honda CBX six cylinder motorcycle with 14,677 original miles. This CBX has its original paint in excellent condition. It is silver which was used only in the first year of production. ***Note: this early CBX's VIN is CB1-2000969. This bike is from my father's estate. My father was the original owner. This bike has never been stored outside, it has never been ridden in inclement weather, and it has never been in a wreck.
My father was an expert machinist and quality control supervisor for a company that made experimental automobile and aircraft parts for major manufacturers. He was a performance enthusiast and took maticulous care of all of his motorcycles and exotic performance automobiles. He purchased the factory manuals for the CBX along with the factory valve adjustment tools. He kept detailed service records.
When he first purchased the CBX, before it was assembled at the dealership, he took the three discs to his work and precision drilled and chamfered them on and index table to aircraft tolerances, to aid in cooling and stopping. This is the only modification that has been made to this CBX. The drilled discs can be seen clearly in the pictures.
My father removed the original factory exhaust when the CBX was first purchased and set the exhaust aside to preserve it. He installed a six into one exhaust on the bike when he used it. I have re-installed the original exhaust system which had less than 100 miles on it. (The six into one exhaust system is included with this bike).
This Honda CBX is a six cylinder in line engine with four valves per cylinder (24 valves) with a total displacement of 1047cc's.
There are no paint chips, no dents, and no leaks. The seat has had a couple of small repairs. Otherwise it is like new. All of the gauges, speedometer, odometer, are in working order.
I have the factory shop manual, owners manual, maintance records, and tool kit which are included.
The buyer is responsible for shipping but I will help in any way. If you have any questions please email me at ericbiczo@sbclgobal.net or call me on my cell at 214-864-3270 or my home at 214-328-8664.
A $500 non refundable down payment is required within 48 hours after the auction closes.
