1988 Concours, naked and clean. 73K and still purring.
Vehicle Description
The original sport tourer. This is a clean, naked Connie in absolutely turnkey condition. I removed the lower plastic and had every intention of making it my personal naked Connie but other projects need attention. It is in remarkable shape for a 20 year old motorcycle. It starts, runs and idles perfectly. Everything works including the lights, turn signals, horn (the loudest horn I have ever heard on a bike), gauges, choke and saddlebags. The bike has a New Hampshire transferable registration and the old Massachusetts title (original owner). These bikes are legendary for their reliability. It is not unheard of for a Concours to have more than 200K miles with no major repairs. Please visit www.concours.org and see for yourself. This bike would make a great commuter bike or long distance hauler. Fly into Islip, (ISP) NY airport and ride it home. It is old and needing attention in a few areas so, I have listed its good points and flaws below:
THE GOOD
Starts, runs and idles very well
Shifts through all the gears and goes down the road smoothly and comfortably
Lights, turn signals, horn, gauges all work
Paint is decent with minor fading
Saddlebags still functional
Very clean for a 20 year old bike
Relocated coolant tank to under seat for the naked conversion
BOSS naked look
Very comfortable aftermarket grips
No leaks
Brakes work well
Targa aftermarket tinted windscreen
The mileage represents approximately 3500 miles annually
Stock, unmodified motor and exhaust
THE BAD:
ALL the black plastic has faded to some degree
Small piece missing from right side fairing area where it meets the mirror
Small tear in seat on left side repaired with black duct tape
Pinstripes faded
Brakes have some minor rust
Mirror boots have cracked from age
Minor rust and discoloration on various components

If delivery is required, please contact me ASAP at the end of the auction to plan. If you choose to fly into Islip, NY and ride it home, the bike will have to be paid for in full, then I will send the title, you register it and then ride home on your plates. I will not charge a fee to pick up the winning bidder at Islip airport. JFK or LaGuardia, I will have to charge $100 to pick up the winning bidder. I can crate this motorcycle for an additional $750 on top of the finished auction price. Standard delivery fee then applies to deliver to shipper of your choice. Shipping to be researched, arranged and paid for by the winning bidder.
The Kawasaki Concours is easily one of the most reliable and popular motorcycles ever built. This particular example is ready for many more miles and enjoyment for the next owner. The reserve is lower than you would expect and I will gladly reveal it to anyone who takes the time to call and ask.
