Vehicle Description
This bike was given to my neighbor by his dad about a year ago. His dad got it when he was a teenageand after a couple of years he parked it for oh say 20 years give or take a couple. Then my neighbor needed cash for some bills so I bought it off him. Bike has always been adult owned and ridden. It looks as though it has never seen a dirt trail in it's life. Only 467 miles on the odometer. Only damage on bike- 1,on off switch is almost flush with housing, but I can still operate it with my finger. 2 , a very small puncture on that beautiful seat. Oh while we are on it, how do you like the fanny seat pack that is factory mounted behind the saddle!
This bike runs like a raped, violated ape on steroids. My first encounter. I show up at home with my KZ650 kawasaki. My neighbor ask if I have a $100 to lose? I figure my 4 stroke street bike would do him in on the road. Boy was I mistaken! From 1st gear right on through, all I saw was the back end of this monster. I was doing 65mph on the COW and this thing was a couple of tenths ahead and walking away! Figure 80+ mph!!! Drivability is awsome. Bike idles nice and accelerates strong and smooth. The biggest task is keeping the front end down out of the hole. I noticed it has a skid plate. some of the black coating on the engine has flake but just a little. There is no rust on the bike.
When started the bike today I noticed the carb was leaking a little from the over flow. So the bowl may need cleaned out. It still started and ran good.
This is a 1979 400 it
has working head lamp and brake light, so you MIGHT be able to plate if you wanted to

I have been informed this is either a 1976 or 1977. Told that in 1978 was a 465cc told that parts are hard to get for the 1979 were more rare and that 1979 was different. So this is probably a 1976 or 1977 thanks for looking.

IT400 1W6 -1975 Cold takes me a few minutes and several kicks to start (probably due to me wearing tennis shoes) Bike starts and keeps running as soon as it hits. Hot = 1 kick Noticed the bars ar bent back on the left side by an inch or so. There is a set I am preparing to bid on. If I win them they will be included. If not I will be willing to work with the winning bidder $50 discount if I don't win the replacement, or ?
