Yamaha xs650 special
Vehicle Description
You are looking at a 1978 Yamaha xs650 special custom. This bike has gone through a radical change from the original design. It has been stretched and lowered and is a tire burner from the word go. Please ask any questions before bidding. Only seriuse inquries please. The bike is currently running anbd has been for the past year. It is in need of bigger jets in in the carbs for better starting but is running great. If you not familiar with the 650 motor they are a cold hearted starting bike. When she gets warmed up she shows her stuff.
The following is a list of the conversions that have been completed:
1999 v-star 650 tank installed. Had to make new mounts. the existing ones are still intaked.
1999 R6 swing arm installed. Had to split the swing arm and reweld to get it to fit. Cut 3 inches out of the center. the geometry is dead on.
1999 R1 Mono shock. removed the existing duals. Have the originals.
After market cafe style bars.
2000 Harlery Davidson softail rear fender
2000 Harley Davidson sportster front fender.
2000 porster exhaust mufflers.
These are just the main things that have been done.
I have moved the ignition to the side of the bike. Relocated the tach to the middle of the bars. Designed wiring for the center speedo and light indicatord that go with the v-star tank. The holes in the rear fender are from where I had the turn signals mounted. Need to remodify the brackets or put an actual HD rear light bar on it. All the old holes have been filled but can be located. The paint is B5 mopar blue. But was a quick job. I have an extra used battery and two boxes of extra original parts. I even have a starter and all the electrical components that tend to go bad on these bikes. Have access to another set of rims. Have extra brake calipers. In the pics you can see more light bars, headelights and many other parts. The bike will not have the ride side cover. However I have a red one that will replace it. It has been a good ride and looks good when she is clean. Would make a good finish project bike for anyone with a litle more time than me. It needs tires, the back has had a few to many miles on it and the front is weather cracked. It will also need anew chain soon. the old one is getting stretched. Thanks for looking
Terms of sale. There is no warranty on the bike and no gaurantee that it will make it cross country so local pickup only. If you want it shipped that is the buyers responsability. I wll not part the bike out or sell the extra stuff. Package deal. No paypal strickly Money order or cash. 50% of the purchase price must be recieved within 3 days of the end of the auction. Pickup of the bike must be completed within 10 days from the end of the auction. A storage fee will be imposed after that 10 days at $25.00 per day. Ask questions if you don't know. I reserve the right to end the auction at any time due to it is listed locally.
