1982 YZ 490
This is my 1982 Yamaha YZ 490. With a little bit of work this could be on vintage race circuits or a real enthusiast could easily restore this to showroom condition. I just pulled it out of the barn this spring, decarbonized the top end, cleaned out the carburetor, and adjusted the clutch. This was the first time I've had this bike running since I bought it at an auction about three years ago. What it needs is a little kickstart work, (the kickstarter won"t spring back up when you kick it over). Although I cleaned out the carb it could probably use a fresh rebuild kit, and the pipe has been soldered, also the tranny appeears to have been previously welded in a few spots. Other than that all is good, the motor has never been bored out, the tires are fat and almost brand new, all plastic appears to be original. This sucker is fast, I clocked it while holding my GPS at 79.4 miles per hour on a gravel road. Not bad for an all original 25 year old dirtbike. I've sold all my other dirtbikes and parts and this one will be the last to go. Good luck and happy bidding.
