1972 Yamaha RD 250 NO RESERVE Vehicle Description Sorry to those who were bidding the first round. The first auction was pulled to due the auctions title wording. So now for the second time up for auction is a 1972 Yamaha rd-250. I was tearing down a vacant farmhouse 3 years ago and this bike was in the gargage covered with dust. I took it home cleaned the tank, carbs, put a used battery in it, some new ngk plugs, and she runs. Actually sounds good. I am a big guy and this bike will accerate faster than my 08 xr 650. Kinda funny. I intended to use this bikes motor for a go cart, but years have gone by and I'm sick of looking at it. The details on it are as follows. Guages work, but the tach is slow. Lights work, but turn signals do not. Horn works. Front and rear brakes work. Forks need rebuilt. Tires are old and dry rotted. It has no air filter. The old one was rotted away. Has some rust on the chome parts but the frame looks good. Pictures pretty much sum it up. But I will repeat and say the engine and trans, in my opinion good. It will idle, but loads up after to long. This bike will start after 5 winter months of not running after 20 kicks. This bike by no means is a museum piece. It will be a great parts donor though. I have NO title for it. I have not researched how to obtain a title, hense, I had no intention to make it road worthy, legal, again. It will come with a bill of sale. The id #s match on the engine to frame so I believe its original. Just remember, I am selling a parts bike. It is in no way perfect, but to someone it will be useful. I am selling this for NO RESERVE. If it sells for $20 come and get it. I don't care, just need it gone. I am NOT in any way giving a warranty on this old bike. It will be SOLD AS IS. If you win it, you own it. Do not bid unless you have money to pay. If you have little or bad feedback I will cancel your bid. I do not have time to waste. Posting auctions costs me money. So be honerable. That said, good luck and if more info or questions answered are needed. Feel free. Thanks
